Raymond   Sage

Raymond Sage left this world to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sept. 18, 2022. He was born June 28, 1936, to Bill and Eva Mae Sage in Gooding, ID. He married the love of his life, Glenda Cox, on Dec. 21, 1956. They were soul mates for almost 65 years. Ray and Glenda were career Air Force, having lived all over the United States and France before returning home to Camas for retirement.
Raymond is survived by his brother, Larry (Jo) Sage. He is also survived by his four children: Coni (George) Barnes, Vicky (Mike) Whittaker, Daina (John) Muffett, and Roger Sage. He has 11 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Grandchildren: Jared (Nicole) Barnes, Tammy (Jason) Boltz, Jeffrey Barnes, Randy (Barb) Simpson, Alisha (Jason) Lollar, Jennifer (Tanner) Simpson, Danielle Whittaker (previously passed), Nicole Whittaker, Jessica Muffett Melni, Brooklynne Muffett (Krissy) Hill, Antheny, (Dakotah) Sage.
He was first a son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and friend. Secondly, he was career Air Force (retired), airplane mechanic and supervisor. When he retired, he worked at Jantzen Sportswear as a sewing machine mechanic before working at Tidland Corporation in maintenance, retiring from there.
He was involved with his church always as well as whatever his children were doing. He was an honorary girl scout and worked with the children’s troops etc. He also enjoyed their antique car clubs. His family at home as well as extended family was always uppermost in his mind.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Wounded Warriors or Laurelwood Baptist Church, Youth Camp Scholarship Fund. Both were close to his heart!
A celebration of life for both Raymond and Glenda Sage will be held at Laurelwood Baptist Church, 17015 NE 6th St, Vancouver, WA 98684 on Oct. 1, 2022, Saturday, at 10:00 a.m. A burial service will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens at 1:00 p.m. All family and friends are welcome at either service.
