Marvin Hettinger

February 27, 1949 ~ July 22, 2021
Marvin was born Feb. 27, 1949, and raised in Redding, CA. He enjoyed living there with outdoor fun happening every day. He attended Shasta college then Chico State University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in computer programming. In 1970 he met Sue who he married in 1973. His career in computers began with an army enlistment at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico. From there he spent 30 years working for civil service all over the western U.S. He retired from BPA at the Ross complex in 2005. His interests were family time and traveling on cruise ships, construction of various projects at home.
He is survived by his spouse, Sue; his son, Eric; and his brother, Dick in Sequin, TX; and brother, Hank in Huntsville, AL. Memorial is planned at Straubs Funeral Home in Camas, WA, at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 1.
Marv fought long and hard to survive his metastatic cancer but passed July 22, 2021.
