Delmar Wayne Harkins

Delmar Wayne Harkins was born on Sept. 9, 1929 in Davenport, NE. He enjoyed his early years on his family’s farms in Nebraska and Kansas. His family moved briefly to Salem, OR, and then to Camas, WA, where he graduated from high school and celebrated his 93rd birthday.
He married Genielle Lois Marble in 1949, joined the Camas United Methodist Church and worked for 43 years at the Camas paper mill. Del enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, and carpentry. He and Genielle traveled for many years with the 49ers RV Club. He loved being a Dad and Grandfather.
He is survived by his daughters, Lauralee Harkins and Carol (Gary) Blackwell; son, Dean (Barbara) Harkins; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Genielle Harkins; daughter, Gail Harkins; and great-grandaughter, Clara Mae Blackwell.
A memorial Service will be held Saturday, Nov. 19, 2022, at 2 p.m. at the Camas United Methodist Church.
