David Wayne Whetzel

David Wayne Whetzel passed away Nov. 25, 2021, in Longview, WA. He was born Aug. 9, 1946, to Curtis and Leslie Whetzel in Vancouver, WA.
David graduated from Washougal High School in 1964. He worked at the Camas Papermill and retired after 39 years of service. He was a board member of Ryderwood Community Church.
David enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and coin collecting. He was married to his wife, who he lovingly called Shaly, for 56 years.
David is survived by wife, Shirley Whetzel; daughters, Melanie (Ken) Billeci and Elizabeth (Jason) Johnson; brother, Lee (Donna) Whetzel; sister, Roxanne (Wally) Kelly; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by daughter, Dianna Avery.
A celebration of life will be held at Ryderwood Community Church in Ryderwood, WA, on Friday, Dec. 10, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Ryderwood Community Church.
