Bryant Jr. Hershell Bud Justis
March 9, 1942 ~ February 22, 2022
My loving husband of 54 years, best friend, devoted father, adoring grandfather, Bryant Hershell Justis Jr. (Bud), following a tragic fall, was called home Feb. 22, 2022, to be with the Lord and his beloved grandson Zain (18) who predeceased him in Sep. 2021. Born Mar. 9, 1942, in La Jolla, CA, Bryant was a graduate of Palmdale High School and of California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), Pomona, CA with a BS in Business Management in 1964. He served honorably as a Captain and Aide de Camp to two succeeding General officers who served as the Commanders of the Western Missile Test Range (now Vandenberg Space Force Base) in Lompoc, CA, from 1966-1970. He went on to earn a MS in System Management and an MBA, both from USC in 1971. Bryant worked all over the country in senior data processing management until he became a Financial Advisor in Camas, WA, with Edward Jones in 1993 where he thrived until his retirement in 2007. He was well-known as a kind, loyal and generous man, often financially aiding family and friends when they needed a helping hand. In retirement, Bryant and wife Susan (Sue) split their time between homes in Camas and Tucson, AZ, visiting family & friends, and spending time at Bryant’s “happy place” on Exuma Island, Bahamas. Bryant’s loving family, wife, Sue; daughter, Amy Justis Weier (Charlie) of Mendota Heights, MN; son, Matthew Ward Justis (Linnea) of Washougal WA; grandchildren, Elliot Weier, Caroline Weier, and Barrett Justis; along with sisters/brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews, will all miss him deeply. His Memorial Service will be Aug. 20, 2022, 11 a.m., Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Vancouver, WA. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made to the Zain Justis Foundation, PO Box 704, Camas, WA 98607.
