Betty L. Thornton

May 21, 1931 ~ July 10, 2020
Betty died early on July 10, 2020 from pancreatic cancer. She was born in Rainier, OR, May 21, 1931, to Henry Kissel and Rose Schwering, spending her childhood on the Columbia.
Betty spent over 70 years living in Clark and Skamania Counties raising a family and working at the Paper Mill, Fern Prairie Store, Pendleton Mills and North Bonneville RV Park.
While she loved to play cards, crochet and travel, her greatest joy in life was being with family and friends.
Betty is survived by her sisters: Karen Nelson and Helen Blair; sons: Rick Gilman and Chuck Gilman; son-in-law, Ken Bengtson; daughters-in-law: Barbara Gilman of Germany and Cleta Gilman of Camas; grandchildren: Raeleen, David and Logan of Camas, Tina and Marc of Germany, and Shannon of The Dalles; and great-granddaughter, Ava.
She was preceded in death by spouses, Loyd Gilman and Robert Thornton; sons, Larry, Steven and Jeff Gilman; grandson, Jake Gilman; two sisters and four brothers.
Betty will be greatly missed but never forgotten!
The family is grateful for the assistance she received from Prestige Assisted Living Hazel Dell and South West Hospice.
Per her wishes, there will be no memorial services and her interment will be private at Fern Prairie Cemetery in Camas, WA.
