Empty Bowls Camas organizers aim for ‘bigger impact’ in 2025

Before the first Empty Bowls Camas event in September 2024, event organizer Jamie St. Clair told Nancy Wilson, the director of the Inter-Faith Treasure House in Washougal, that she hoped to raise $2,000 for the nonprofit organization, which provides food assistance to local residents in need.

Washougal nabs $3.4M grant to widen Shepherd Road

The city of Washougal has received a $3.4 million grant for a project to widen a portion of Shepherd Road, allowing for on-street parking, a shared-use path, traffic calming and drainage improvements, and improved access to the Sandy Swimming Hole.

Washougal School Board member calls for transparency

A Washougal School Board member is calling for more transparency from Washougal School District (WSD) leaders, who he claimed failed to notify the Board in a timely manner about a financial warning the district received from the Washington Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI).
