Practice for Washougal equestrian team OK’d

Although the Camas and Washougal equestrian teams are both members of the Washington High School Equestrian Teams Association, only one team may be able to compete this season.

State revises COVID-19 rules on school sports

Camas and Washougal high school student-athletes won’t participate in any official competitions for at least two more months, but new guidelines from the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) have given them hope that they’ll be able to return to the practice field soon.

Washougal golfers invited to PGA championship

Melissa Joyal displayed a natural talent for golf after picking up a club for the first time as a freshman at Fort Vancouver High School, but she knew that she couldn’t rely solely on her physical gifts to achieve her goals. Her intense passion for the game allowed her to develop an equally strong work ethic to match her abilities.

Camas High graduate signs with San Francisco Giants

When Tyler Forner was 9 months old, his family moved from Vancouver to San Mateo, California. They relocated to Camas five years later, but have made several visits to the Bay Area since then. Those trips allowed Forner to attend several San Francisco Giants games and become a devoted fan of the Major League Baseball team.

CHS volleyball standout to walk on at Oregon State

To reach her full potential as a volleyball player, Emma Villaluz knows that she has to be ready for any scenario, stay positive with her teammates, learn from her mistakes, try to control only what she can control and, most importantly, have confidence in her abilities. She believes that she’s good enough to compete with virtually anybody, no matter how talented they may be.

CHS basketball star commits to Cal Poly

Scott Thompson is convinced that if Faith Bergstrom had waited a while longer, she would’ve received offers to play for some of the most prominent women’s basketball programs in the nation. But at the same time, he knows that her decision to attend a university known for its prestigious engineering programs most likely will turn out to be a wise one.
