Boxer Ben Schluter from Camas picks up another piece of hardware after winning the Silver Gloves Regional Boxing Tournament in Boise, Idaho. The win gave him the honor of competing at the National Tournament in Missouri, where he finished in fifth place.

Skyridge boxer competes at national level

Don’t let his small size fool you, Ben Schluter, a 101-pound, 14-year-old Skyridge Middle School student, is one of the best teen boxers in the country.

Discovery High School innovators place third at Mercy Corps event

Three groups of Discovery High freshmen from Camas recently competed with young innovators from Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington for cash prizes and the quest to solve one incredibly important problem — a lack of food for the world’s population by 2050.

Camas students help ‘reforest’ town

Camasonians can breathe a little easier thanks to the work of the Camas High School Green Team, which planted nearly 100 trees last week, as part of the group’s latest eco-friendly mission.
