Washougal High thespians find online audience

When Washougal High School (WHS) closed in mid-March due to COVID-19 pandemic, the school’s theater students were preparing their spring production of “The Wizard of Oz,” which, much to their disappointment, was cancelled.

Washougal tackles suicide prevention

Washougal School District students and educators will soon have access to a successful, nationwide youth suicide-prevention program known as “Sources of Strength,” thanks to a Washington State Department of Health grant awarded to the Unite! Washougal Community Coalition.

CHS basketball star commits to Cal Poly

Scott Thompson is convinced that if Faith Bergstrom had waited a while longer, she would’ve received offers to play for some of the most prominent women’s basketball programs in the nation. But at the same time, he knows that her decision to attend a university known for its prestigious engineering programs most likely will turn out to be a wise one.

Crowds cheer for Washougal grads during ‘car parade’

Washougal High School’s Class of 2020 graduates celebrated their achievements in social-distancing style last weekend, with events that included a virtual graduation ceremony on Saturday, June 6, as well as a “senior car parade” through Washougal’s main streets and a sunset viewing event in the Washougal High parking lot on Friday, June 5.
