When 2009 Camas High School graduate Fiona Hoffman started dancing at age 9, she thought it was silly and girly. She only did it because her mom made her. Now, Hoffman is about to begin her junior year in the dance program at The Juilliard School in New York and she dreams of one day starting her own dance company. Hoffman is hosting a solo concert to raise money for her tuition so she can continue attending Juilliard and work toward her dream of dancing professionally.
Fundraising underway for covered playground Cape Horn-Skye Elementary is offering a unique opportunity for community members to contribute to its "Covered Playground Project."
Boy Scout Joel Edward Holland II of Troop 549 was recently awarded the rank of Eagle Scout, which is Scouting's highest honor.

Local graduates from technical institute Bradley Downs of Camas graduated from the Information Technology and Communication Systems program at Perry Technical Institute in Yakima.
The following students were named to the semester three honor roll at Skyridge Middle School.
Skyridge Middle School acknowledges two students each year who have contributed on a personal level to the school and fellow students with the Jackson Leadership and Good Will awards.
Chloe Jackson, a Washougal native, has been accepted to the Teach For America 2011 corps.
