Katie Schroeder unleashes a wicked pitch for the Papermakers Wednesday. The Camas High School senior was unhittable from the circle and struck out 15 Prairie Falcons in a 6-0 victory. She also drove in three runs at the plate on a home run and a double.

The Camas dance team earned the district championship Saturday, at Skyview High School. The dancers are Dahlia Vu, Veronica Mercado, Alexis Stanton, Alisha Heilman, Asia Fearrington, Kassidy Renfroe, Kayleigh Petit de Lueb, Lindsey Kosaki, Lucinda Zhang, Maddie Bertalot, Rachel Liu, Sylvia Cochrane, Talia Sampson and Ursula Hood. Camas qualified for the state meet Saturday, March 28, in Yakima.

Dancers earn top prize at districts

After fluctuating between first and second place in competitions this season, 14 Papermakers danced the night away with the district title.

Volunteers from Clark Public Utilities and Camas-Washougal Babe Ruth installed six new Musco light poles Saturday, at Louis Bloch Park, in Camas. Crown Zellerbach dedicated the baseball field to its first chairman Sept. 3, 1940. New lights, scoreboard and bleachers should help the park become a community destination for the next 75 years, and beyond.
