Camas-Washougal hoops teams don’t let COVID keep them down

Three local high school basketball teams have not allowed COVID-19 — which has temporarily sidelined the majority of their players and coaches over the past few weeks — to impede their success during the 2021-22 season.

Wrestling seasons paused after massive COVID outbreak

Clark County high school athletic directors have decided to pause their school’s wrestling seasons until Monday, Jan. 3, as a result of a COVID-19 outbreak among local grapplers.

If the Washougal High School girls basketball team needs Savea Mansfield to score, she’ll score. If it needs her to rebound, she’ll rebound. If it needs her to pass, she’ll pass. If it needs her to shut down the opponent’s best player, she’ll shut down the opponent’s best player.

State Champs: undefeated Camas girls soccer team takes 4A state title

The Camas girls soccer team entered postseason play with an unbeaten record, but wanted to leave nothing to chance. Even though the Papermakers hadn’t participated in a penalty-kick (PK) shootout all season, they wanted to make sure they were prepared just in case.
