The Camas-Washougal 13- to 15-year-old Babe Ruth all-stars loaded the bases with two outs in the last inning Saturday, but couldn’t come through with the clutch hit it needed to stay alive in the Pacific Northwest Regional tournament at Louis Bloch Park, in Camas.

A love for the game took this little softball team from Camas all the way to the finals of the 8- to 10-year-old all-star state tournament in Chehalis.

Eli Tomac (3) won the 450 Class moto 2, in the Peterson CAT Washougal National, Saturday at Washougal Motocross Park. He placed second in the first moto and captured the overall win in the 450 class.

For the love of motocross

From the young girls selling lemonade and cookies near the entrance to Washougal Motocross Park before 8 a.m. Saturday, to the families throwing footballs, grilling dinner and waving to passersby in the parking lot 11 hours later, there were many sights and sounds to experience at the Peterson CAT Washougal National.
