Battle tested Camas girls off to hot start in league play

The Washougal boys wrestling team is off to a 2-0 start in 2A Greater St. Helens League competition.
Scott Loughney, a 48-year-old ultrarunner from Camas, recently accomplished the ultimate high-altitude running feat, completing a 400-mile round-trip trail run from Kathmandu, Nepal, to Mount Everest Base Camp.
A large contingent of Beyonce Bea fans from Washougal were roaring with excitement inside Portland’s Viking Pavilion as Bea and the University of Idaho (UI) women’s basketball team faced off against Portland State University on Jan. 2.

For the past 26 years Washougal High School’s (WHS) wrestling program has sent at least one wrestler to Mat Classic, and this year both the Panthers’ boys and girls teams plan to have wrestlers at the Tacoma Dome once again.
After winning the 4A state wrestling championship at 170 pounds last season, Camas High School (CHS) senior Gideon Malychewski knows that repeating will take everything he’s got.
