Camas man first to complete Everest Mail Run

Scott Loughney, a 48-year-old ultrarunner from Camas, recently accomplished the ultimate high-altitude running feat, completing a 400-mile round-trip trail run from Kathmandu, Nepal, to Mount Everest Base Camp.

WHS boys basketball making early statement

With the return of senior Jakob Davis, healthy and strong after missing last season with a knee injury, and the addition of highly-skilled freshman Yanni Fassalis, the Washougal High School (WHS) boys basketball team jumped out to a hot start this season, winning five of its first eight games.

WHS wrestling squads feature state-tested veterans

For the past 26 years Washougal High School’s (WHS) wrestling program has sent at least one wrestler to Mat Classic, and this year both the Panthers’ boys and girls teams plan to have wrestlers at the Tacoma Dome once again.

CHS boys basketball looks to make statement in loaded league

The Camas High School (CHS) boys basketball team’s 2019-2020 season kicked off at home on Dec. 5 when the Papermakers faced Prairie High School. Noticeably missing from the CHS roster were several top players, including senior Jackson Clemmer, the only returning starter.
