The Camas High School volleyball team finished off Tahoma for fifth place in the 4A state tournament Saturday, at St. Martin's University, in Lacey.

Finishing the deal in fifth

After a difficult loss to Emerald Ridge in the state quarterfinals, the Camas High School volleyball team earned a better finish than last season when it defeated Tahoma for fifth place. "The seniors will remember the feeling of this last match, and how the entire team came together for a great finish," said senior outside hitter Lauren Harris. "It was the perfect way to wrap up the season," added senior middle blocker Sophi Jacobson. "We played with passion and with heart. It doesn't get much better than that."

Camas football team aims for redemption at state

In order to play football for the next four weeks, these brothers from Camas are going to have to make every single day count. On the field, and in the classroom, weight room and film room. No stone can be left unturned.

Papermaker pact back on top

Emma Jenkins, Alissa Pudlitzke and Emily Wilson finished in fourth, fifth and 11th place. Maddie Woodson, Kaylee Merritt and Brooke Roy followed in 35th, 36th and 38th place. The strong pact between these Papermakers helped them become state cross country champions for the third time in the last four years Saturday, on the Sun Willows Golf Course, in Pasco.
