Fun with manners

The Gause Elementary library was transformed into a fine dining establishment on Jan. 27 for Cindi Freeman’s second- and third-grade class to practice the etiquette skills they were recently taught by Mark Jasper, Washougal School District Nutrition Services Director.

Local students excel in essay competitions

Local students were recently recognized for their writings about patriotism and the contributions of veterans on Sunday, Jan. 22 at the Camas Community Center.

Camas High School student Megan Baffaro is collecting donations of pajamas, slippers, coloring books and colored pencils for a Mexican orphanage, as part of  her senior project. Behind her are slips of paper and a photo of a child. Students can take the paper and then donate the requested items.
