Local student makes honor roll at OSU Brittney N. Oljar of Camas has made the fall term honor roll at Oregon State University. To make the honor roll, students must take at least 12 graded credits and earn at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.
Teen game night, 'Read to the Dogs' set There will be a teen game night at the Washougal Community Library, 1661 "C" St., from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28. Call the library at 835-5393 for details. Also coming up will be a "Read to the Dogs" night Tuesday, Jan. 25 from 6 to 7:30 p.m., where readers of all ages can sign up to read aloud to a therapy dog for 24 minutes.
School board seeking applicants The Washougal School Board is seeking applicants to fill two vacancies that will be left when longtime members Orlan Gessford and Tom Huffman retire Jan. 31. Qualified applicants must be U.S. citizens, registered voters and reside in the appropriate director district. The open positions will be in districts one and four. Employees and immediate family members of district employees are not allowed to serve on the board.
Knowledge Bowl team fares well CHS Knowledge Bowl students recently opened their 2010 season with a dominating performance against schools from throughout the region.
Free community dinner set Dec. 15 There will be a holiday celebration and dinner at the Jack, Will and Rob Boys & Girls Club Wednesday, Dec. 15 from 5 to 7 p.m. The event is open to all and will include family activities and information about the club, as well as dinner.
Winter kids' craft event set The Camas Public Library is hosting a craft event for children in second- through eighth-grade at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2. All supplies are provided for kids to make their own miniature snowman. The library is located at 625 N.E. Fourth Ave. Pre-registration is not required.
