During Sunshine Week - a week dedicated to promoting a dialogue about the importance of open government -- we took a moment to stand up and applaud the thousands of city and town officials, staff, and committee members who work to support these principles.

A vision to create something special

On the April 1 First Friday, the Downtown Camas Association will be leading a celebration of the city's history. Highlighted will be Operation 4-Sight, an effort that began more than 50 years. Business leaders hoped to improve the look of the historic district to draw and retain shoppers.

Members of the UNITE! Washougal Community Coalition are enthusiastically awaiting word on its application to receive a five-year $625,000 federal Drug-Free Communities grant. It's money that has the potential to have a very significant impact on the incredible work already being done by this grass-roots, community-based and intensely-focused organization.

Jump into the Spring Sports Preview

The winter high school sports season ended with a major splash of orange and black as the Washougal High School girls basketball team made history when the Panthers captured a fourth-place trophy in the 2A state tournament at the Yakima Sun Dome.
