Randie Gjerset, of east Vancouver, enjoys spending time with Rocko, at the Donald and Angeline Stevenson Off Leash Area, near Bi-Mart, 3003 Addy St., Washougal. She adopted the 9-year-old male terrier mix in late July, from the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society, in Washougal. ìHeís very mellow and loves to be loved,î Gjerset said.

Individuals who paid $17 online or $20 at the gate of the Weird Beer on the River festival received a souvenir glass and tickets for six tastings of beer, wine or hard cider. Options for designated drivers included soda and bottled water. The first-time event was a benefit for CDM Caregiving Services, of Vancouver.
