Broadening their world views

Some Camas High School graduates have chosen to forgo the typical college experience for something more non-traditional and outside-of-the-box. From working as a nanny in France to studying at a culinary arts school in Italy, these students are taking time to gain a new world perspective and have experiences they won't soon forget. The Post-Record interviewed a few of these recent graduates to learn in more detail about their unique adventures.

Tommer and Maria Gonser are relocating the Attic Gallery from its Portland location to downtown Camas. The couple have lived in Washougal the past two years and were looking for a space closer to home.  "We are looking forward to being a part of a community again," Maria said.

Kathy Dering launched her mobile painting business this fall. She offers painting parties at Wild Flour Cafe & Cupcakes, Amnesia Brewing and 5440 Brewing, all in Washougal. The classes include all materials and an outline of the painting. Participants choose the colors and use their imaginations.
