10 Years Strong

Four downtown Camas businesses will celebrate a milestone this week with a 10-year-anniversary celebration at Camas Bike & Sport during the Camas First Friday celebrations on June 7.

War causes layoffs at Washougal woolen mill: Rationing of wool — a result of World War II efforts in the Pacific — caused the layoffs of about 40 third-shift workers at the Pendleton Woolen Mills in Washougal, according to a front-page article published in the Jan. 8, 1942 Post-Record.

Road-tripping with ‘bears’

Road-tripping with dogs in tow isn’t that uncommon, but few people have attempted the type of trip one Washougal couple recently completed — a nine-week tour of the southern United States, zig-zagging from Washington to California to Nashville to Florida and back again with a fifth-wheel and two extra large, extra fluffy pups.
