Camas pauses ‘parklet’ debate

Fans of downtown Camas’ outdoor dining “parklets” will have to wait at least a year to see if the open-air eating spaces put in place during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic might someday return.

Voters to decide fate of Washougal School District levies

Washougal School District (WSD) voters will soon decide the fate of two levies that would help fund the school district’s bevy of programs, activities, athletics, technology, maintenance and safety needs not covered by state or federal funds.

Community chimes in on Camas’ Everett Street Corridor

A recent community survey shows that when it comes to improving Camas’ Everett Street Corridor, a 1.5-mile stretch of state Route 500 that runs from the Lake Road-Everett Street roundabout to the city limits near Northeast Third Street, the majority of survey-takers want city leaders to focus on improving the corridor’s safety and mobility – for drivers as well as pedestrians – and connection to nearby parks, schools and roads leading into the city’s historic downtown.

Love is in the air at February First Friday in downtown Camas

Love will be in the air in downtown Camas this week, as the Downtown Camas Association (DCA) hosts its annual “A Chocolate Affair to Remember” First Friday event from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, throughout the city’s historic downtown business district.
