Washougal search-and-rescue group seeks new headquarters

Silver Star Search and Rescue is conducting a new search — this time, though, instead of finding missing hikers in the wilderness or lost children in the city, the Washougal-based search and rescue operation is looking for a new home.

Camas schools superintendent: ‘It’s hard to say goodbye’

After leading the Camas School District through a decade worth of ups and downs, Camas schools superintendent Jeff Snell has announced he will step down at the end of the 2020-21 school year to take a new position as superintendent of the Vancouver Public Schools district.

Washougal golfers lead Panthers to championship match

In the fall of 2019, Washougal High School golfers Trevor Evers and Chase Baldwin qualified for the 2020 2A state tournament. which was scheduled for May but eventually canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

After ‘hiccups’ Camas awards 3rd Avenue Bridge contract

Despite $2.5 million worth of federal grant funding and plenty of willing contractors, the city of Camas’ quest to make “significant seismic improvements” to the Third Avenue Bridge spanning the Washougal River has hit its fair share of speed bumps.
