Two Rivers Heritage Museum is playing host to cruise ship passengers once again.
Museum volunteer Rene Carroll told The Post-Record that tourists from American Cruise Line (ACL) vessels have recently been stopping by the museum.
“This cruise line had only been starting and stopping here with no excursions, but recently made the decision to land a bit early and give passengers a chance to see the area, spend one more night on the boat and then get transported to the airport the next day,” Carroll said. “We have been open for five ships so far (as of Sept. 25). The passengers are loving it.”
Two months after unexpectedly losing its docking agreement with American Queen Voyages, the Port of Camas-Washougal agreed to a one-year contract with ACL, a Connecticut-based company that operates 19 small cruise ships along the United States’ Eastern and Western seaboards, as well as several major U.S. rivers, including the Columbia, in April 2024.
The Port extended its partnership with ACL in July 2024 as commissioners approved a docking agreement for 2025 and 2026.
