Clark County Green Neighbors invites community members to visit local gardens that exemplify the beauty of nature and sustainable gardening practices during this month’s Natural Garden Tour.

The Natural Garden Tour is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 23, and will occur rain or shine.

The self-guided tour will feature nine gardens throughout Clark County, each demonstrating different natural gardening techniques. Attendees will have a unique opportunity to explore these gardens and learn about innovative and environmentally friendly gardening techniques in use.

This year, the 78th Street Heritage Farm is also part of the tour and will be open for self-guided tours of the Community Gardens, We Compost Community Hub and the Composter Recycler demonstration site.

Natural Garden Tour participants can explore at their own pace, visiting as many of the gardens as they’d like. Booklets with a tour map and garden details, including accessibility levels and parking availability, can be downloaded from the Clark County Green Neighbors website or picked up at the 78th Street Heritage Farm administrative building during office hours. The office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and from 11:30 am to 5 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays.

The Natural Garden Tour aims to encourage gardeners to consider the environmental and health impacts of their gardening choices. Natural gardens support beneficial wildlife, buffer impacts of extreme weather and reduce pollution while providing health benefits for families, neighbors, pets and the environment.

Green Neighbors is a Clark County Public Health program dedicated to promoting residential waste reduction, composting and recycling. For more information about the program, visit the Green Neighbors website at clarkgreenneighbors.org or email info@clarkgreenneighbors.org.
