Camas-Washougal to celebrate graduates this week

Local high schools to hold commencement ceremonies June 6-8

Camas-Washougal is celebrating its graduating high school seniors this week with five separate graduation ceremonies.

The graduation season kicked off Tuesday, June 4, with Camas High School’s senior awards night at Joyce Garver Theater, located at 1500 N.E. Garfield St., Camas.

On Wednesday, June 5, the Camas School District held a graduation ceremony for seniors at Camas Connect Academy, the district’s online school program for grades K-12, and a baccalaureate ceremony for Camas High seniors at Grace Church.

Camas High seniors will have their annual “grad walk” at Doc Harris Stadium Thursday, June 6, and their graduation ceremony begins at 7 p.m. Friday, June 7, at Doc Harris Stadium in Camas.

Discovery High School will host its limited-attendance graduation ceremony at 6 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at the school. Hayes Freedom High School’s graduation ceremony is set for 2 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at Joyce Garver Theater.

Washougal High School seniors will have a senior awards night Thursday, June 6, followed by the school’s annual senior parade through downtown Washougal beginning at 7:15 p.m. Friday, June 7.

The Washougal High School commencement ceremony for the school’s roughly 250 graduating seniors will take place at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at Fishback Stadium, 1201 39th St., Washougal.

Though the Washougal High graduation ceremony will not be livestreamed, the Camas School District will livestream and post videos of its four graduation ceremonies on the district’s YouTube channel at youtube.com/@camaslive.
