The Port of Camas-Washougal has updated its mission statement to reflect its commitment to sustainability and green initiatives.
Port commissioners approved the update during their meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 3. The new statement reads, “It is the mission of the Port of Camas-Washougal to enhance the community’s quality of life by bringing jobs, infrastructure and recreation opportunities to East Clark County through environmentally and socially responsible investments.”
“Our feeling is that it’s everything that we wanted to make sure we hit, and it talks about what we do and how we do it — the ‘what’ first and the ‘how’ second,” Port Chief Executive Officer David Ripp said. “I think we’ve had a very lengthy, but good conversation about this.”
The Port’s previous mission statement read, “It is the mission of the Port of Camas-Washougal to make strategic investments and develop effective partnerships that enhance the community’s quality of life by bringing jobs, infrastructure, and recreational opportunities to East Clark County.”
