Washougal police host ‘Battle of the Badges’ pickleball competition

Washougal hosted the Battle of the Badges, a friendly wellness and fitness competition between local police agencies, on Saturday, Sept. 23. 

Members of the Vancouver, Battle Ground, Ridgefield, Camas and Washougal police departments participated in a variety of events, including a relay race and pickleball at Wolfe Courts in Hathaway Park.

“This group was very ambitious and very appreciative of the help they received from Mike Wolfe and myself,” Camas-Wasougal Pickleball Club Lynda Boesel wrote on a Facebook post. “That is our mission, to encourage all people of all ages and all skill levels to play at Wolfe Courts. (It was) a fun day, and fun to meet some local law enforcement people. Two officers had to play in uniform as they were on duty. (It was) pretty cool to watch their enthusiasm.”
