The Camas-Washougal Fire Department (CWFD) will host an open house and Health and Safety Fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, at Station 42, 4321 N.W. Parker St., Camas.
The day’s events will include live kitchen-fire demonstrations at 10:30 a.m., and 12:15 p.m.; a children’s interactive vehicle fire suppression demonstration at 11 a.m.; a house-fire simulation with sprinkler demonstration at 11:45 a.m.; a vehicle extrication demonstration at 12:45 p.m.; and a Clark County Sheriff’s K-9 unit exhibition at 1:15 p.m.
Local agencies and businesses will have exhibits focused on health, safety and emergency preparedness, including NW Natural who joins the event as part of their “Get Ready” emergency preparedness campaign.
Exhibits will include fire extinguisher demonstrations, emergency preparedness tips for families, and information on community support after a crisis.
The free community event is family-friendly with something for all ages, and will also feature a balloon artist, face painting, an art table for the kids and ice cream, hot dogs and other refreshments.
