Detectives from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) Major Crimes Unit are investigating a homicide in east Clark County that claimed the life of a 68-year-old Camas man.

According to a news release, CCSO deputies responded to a 911 call at 6:41 a.m. Thursday, April 27, in which the caller said he was at his parents’ home and that his stepfather had been shot, possibly by his mother.

Law enforcement and medical personnel arrived at the residence — later identified by The Post-Record’s sister newspaper, The Columbian, as being in the 28000 block of Northeast 48th Way, about 8 miles north of downtown Camas — and discovered the body of a 68-year-old man, later identified as Robert A. Tafolla, of Camas.

CCSO reported that the 911 caller “was in the residence talking to both his mother and dispatch as CCSO personnel arrived.”

Law enforcement officials detained and later arrested Beverly A. Tafolla, 67, of Camas, and have booked her into the Clark County Jail on second-degree murder charges.

According to a news release, Robert Tafolla was found to have suffered from multiple gunshot wounds and detectives found a .38 special revolver at the residence.

CCSO reported that Beverly Tafolla was transported to a local hospital for an evaluation prior to being booked into jail.

Detectives from the CCSO Major Crimes Unit say the investigation is active and ongoing.
