The annual Festival of Trees is set for this week at the American Legion Post 122 at 10221 Washougal River Road, Washougal.
The event kicks off from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, and continues from noon to 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11. Santa will be on hand from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10. Trees will be awarded when the event closes at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11.
The event features a raffle to win one of the live, 8-foot fir trees decorated by local groups with themed decor and lights, as well as a gingerbread village, music and refreshments.
The event has no admission fee. Raffles to win a tree with all the trimmings, plus gifts, cost $5 each or buy five for $20. All proceeds benefit local veterans.
