Parker’s Landing Marina will soon have a new fuel dock.

Construction began on Wednesday, April 13, to replace the fuel dock at the marina. The fueling station is closed and scheduled to reopen by Memorial Day weekend.

The renovated dock will be constructed of a high density polyethylene float system that uses polystyrene encased in long tubes with a rigid steel frame to provide “structural integrity,” according to the Port’s Facebook page.

Most of the walking surface of the new dock will be constructed of fiberglass grating to meet light transmission requirements for migratory fish. The area around the fuel pumps will be made up of concrete to mitigate spills during fuel delivery. The dock will be designed to incorporate a utility tray serving the fuel pumps and pump-a-head. The fuel pay terminal covering will also be renovated.
