The Camas High School student killed in a car crash on his way to school Tuesday morning was identified by his family as 15-year-old Grayson Kennedy.
Grayson would have turned 16 next month and played football at Camas High School. He was beloved by his mom, four siblings and the Camas community, according to Jeff Platt, a spokesman for the online fundraising platform GoFundMe.
The family created a GoFundMe to help with memorial and medical costs. By late Wednesday afternoon, the page had raised more than $47,000.
“Grayson had a goofy, fun-loving nature that made the world a better place,” Sydney Kaster, Grayson’s cousin, said in the fundraising post. “He never failed to bring smiles with him everywhere he went. The loss is too great for words.”
Clark County sheriff’s deputies and Washougal police responded to the crash at 8:14 a.m. at Southeast Nourse Road and 280th Court, less than a mile from Camas High School.
