Letters to the Editor Testing, monitoring needed before talk of reopening state
In the absence of information, all we’ve got are guesses and wishful thinking.
If I want to think that I didn’t get the coronavirus because it’s not around anymore, I can. If I want to think that I didn’t get it because I’ve been staying home, I can.
But if we had benchmarks in the form of widespread testing for the virus and for antibodies to it, as well as contact monitoring of those who test positive, then our governor and our county council could talk reasonably about when and how to begin to loosen the stay-home order, or not loosen it.
