PUBLIC MEETINGS

Camas City Council: The Council will meet for a workshop at 4:30 p.m. and for a regular meeting at 7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 5, at Camas City Hall, 616 N.E. Fourth Ave., Camas. For more information, contact the City Clerk’s office at 360-817-1591, or visit cityofcamas.us.

Port of Camas-Washougal: The Port’s Board of Commissioners will hold a regular meeting at 5 p.m., Monday, Aug. 5, in the Port Meeting Room, 24 S. “A” St., Washougal.

Clark County Council: The Council will hold its regular meeting at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 6, in the sixth-floor room of the Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St., Vancouver.

Camas Library Board: The Board of Trustees will meet from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 8, in Meeting Room A of the Camas Public Library, 625 N.E. Fourth Ave., Camas.

LIBRARY PROGRAMS

Camas Public Library: Preschool Storytime for children ages 3 to 5 years will be held at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 2, and Tuesday, Aug. 6. Slavic storytime (in Russian and Ukrainian) will begin at 10:15 a.m., Monday, Aug. 5. Korean storytime will begin at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5. Tiny Tots Storytime will be held at 9:30, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 7. Baby Storytime will be held at 10:30 and 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 8. Second Story Gallery, located on the second floor of the Camas library, will host an artist reception for The Northwest Oil Painters Guild, which is showcasing member artwork throughout August at the gallery, from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 2. The Bee Club, open to all interested adults, will meet to discuss beekeeping techniques, philosophy, activism and more from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 3; for more information, call Ellen Miles at 360-834-4692. The Youth Advisory Council for youth ages 13 to 17 will meet from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Monday, Aug. 5, in Meeting Room A. No. 2 Readers, a book group for adults that reads mainly literary fiction with some classics and a non-fiction title “thrown in for good measure,” will meet to discuss Angie Thomas’ book “The Hate U Give” from 6 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 6, in Meeting Room A. Summer Movies will show “Pete’s Dragon,” rated PG, from 2 to 4 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 7. Teen Zine Zone will meet from 4 to 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 7. Washougal Community Library: Family storytime, for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and children, will meet from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 2. Storytime with author Gretchen Brandenburg McLellan will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Friday, Aug. 2. Struggling with your tablet or smartphone? Come to the library’s Technology Workshop: Mobile Devices Lab, where library staff will answer tablet and smartphone questions, from 4 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 3. Craft and Play will be held from 2 to 3 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 6. The Paradise of Samoa, a Polynesian dance troupe, will perform from 2 to 3 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 7. “Build It!” for children and tweens will help develop STEM skills by building with LEGO(R) bricks, blocks, boxes and other materials from 2 to 3 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 8. ART GALLERIES AND MUSEUMS

Attic Gallery: The gallery is showcasing “Double Vision: A Two Person Show” featuring encaustic paintings by Sheary Clough Suiter and mixed media paintings by Nard Claar, throughout the month of August. Second Story Gallery: The Northwest Oil Painters Guild will show their art work throughout August at the Second Story Gallery, located on the second floor of the Camas Public Library. There will be an artist reception from 5 to 8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 2, at the gallery, as part of the First Friday activities in downtown Camas. The art also will be available for viewing during regular library hours: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday through Wednesday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Thursday through Saturday. Angst Gallery: The gallery presents “A Study in Blue,” a group show dedicated to all things blue: azul, cobalt, sapphire, indigo, aquamarine, turquoise, teal, cyan and more, Aug. 2-24, with an artist reception from 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 2, at the gallery, 1015 Main St., Vancouver. Art at the Cave: Artists Pepe Hidalgo, Jason Litts and Jesse Reno will exhibit their works throughout the month of August at Art at the Cave. The gallery will host an artist reception from 6 to 9 p.m., Friday, Aug. 2, and an artist talk with Litts and Reno at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 10. The gallery is located at 108 E. Evergreen Blvd., Vancouver.

SENIOR CITIZENS

Meals on Wheels: Lunches, prepared by The Meals on Wheels People, are served at 11:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday, in the Washougal Community Center, at 1681 “C” St., Washougal. Meals on Wheels home delivery is available Monday through Friday. Volunteers are needed. Washougal Senior Center: Meals on Wheels provides coffee from 10 to 11:30 a.m., and serves lunch at 11:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday. The center hosts a food bank at 11 a.m., Mondays. Activities offered during the week include: cribbage, bingo, bunco, pinochle, billiards, watercolor painting and exercise classes. A breakfast fundraiser, to support Washougal Community Center activities, is held on the last Friday of each month (except November and December) from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. The cost is $5. A potluck is held on the first Friday of each month. Refuel Friday, sponsored by local churches and nonprofits, is offered from 4 to 6 p.m. every Friday. CLASS REUNIONS

Camas High School class of 1969: The class will hold its 50th class reunion from 5:30 to 9 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 21, at a Beer at a Time, 216 N.E. Third Ave., Camas. Cost is $5.
