Your Party and Event Center relocating to Vancouver

In April, owners plan to consolidate two showrooms

A local business that specializes in renting event supplies is consolidating its Camas and Hood River, Oregon, locations and moving to a larger showroom space in east Vancouver.

Your Party and Event Center’s Camas showroom, formerly located at 3132 N.E. Third Ave., closed Jan. 31. The Hood River showroom closed in November of 2017.

Owners Mary and Jerry Sauer plan to consolidate the Camas and Hood River showrooms into an east Vancouver space at 3006 N.E. 112th Ave., Suite E, in April.

Mary Sauer said having all of the inventory at the Vancouver location will be more efficient for large events, rather than having half of the inventory in Camas and the other half in Hood River.

“Customers will be able to see everything in one location,” she said.

The new location is 16,654 square feet, compared to the former 3,000-square-foot Camas showroom and 2,000-square-foot Hood River showroom and storage trailers.

“We were just out of room,” Sauer said. “There was no room to grow.”

The eight full-time and two part-time Camas employees will transfer to the Vancouver showroom.

The Sauers also offered to employ the four full-time and one part-time Hood River workers, but said the employees didn’t want to commute that far.

Sauer said they will hire two seasonal drivers and up to eight seasonal employees who have customer service skills and experience setting up event tents.

Your Party and Event Center has provided event rental supplies for local weddings, graduations, corporate functions, nonprofit gatherings and other well-known annual events, such as the Clark County Fair and the Washougal Dinner in White on the Columbia.

“Our core business is in Southwest Washington and the Columbia River Gorge,” Sauer said, adding that she expects the new Vancouver location will attract customers from other parts of Clark County, such as Woodland and Ridgefield. The company’s staff provides rentals, consultation, delivery and installation.

The Sauers, who have lived in Camas for 27 years, opened the Camas location of Your Party and Event Center in December of 2015. Earlier that year, in May, they purchased Your Rental Center, in Hood River, from Chuck and Irene Johnisee. The Johnisees retired after owning and operating the rental business for 38 years.

Inventory from the Camas and Hood River showrooms is currently located at 2380 S.E. Eighth Ave., in Camas.

Customers can view rentable dinnerware and glassware, tables, chairs, tablecloths, dance floors and patio heaters, in the warehouse, until the new showroom opens in April. Orders can also be placed by phone and online.
