A Columbia River High School football running back drowned in Lacamas Lake, during the Memorial Day weekend.
Hunter Pearson, 18, of Vancouver, had been reported to be in the water Saturday and did not make it back to shore.
Camas Police were dispatched to Lacamas Lake for a possible drowning, at approximately 4:30 p.m. Clark County Marine Patrol and the Multnomah County Dive Team responded to assist.
A body was recovered from the lake in Camas, at approximately 9:30 p.m. The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to the scene and later positively identified Pearson and his cause of death.
In April, Pearson committed to play football at Utah State University.
A memorial was held Monday at Chieftan Stadium, on the Columbia River High School campus.
