Wine tasting bar to open in former Sears site

Salud! will feature room for meetings and special events

The former site of a Sears Hometown Store will become the location of a wine tasting bar and event space.

Yolanda Aguilar-Taylor has signed a lease with Randy Dickerson, owner of the building at 224 N.E. Third Ave., Camas.

She plans to open Salud! Wine Tasting, Storage & Events by the end of this summer. It will be a partnership with Raechill Dotson, owner of D-Vine Event Planning.

Salud! is a new business, while D-Vine is a home-based company.

A club member room will be available for events, parties and meetings.

“There will be fun stuff like murder mystery dinners, wine tasting 101 and wine pairings with cheese and chocolate,” Aguilar-Taylor said.

She has signed a contract with Lewallen Architecture LLC, of Camas, to design floor plans for a remodel of the 6,500 square foot space.

“To have a business like this — that not only adds a unique retail option to downtown Camas, but that shows an investment of this magnitude in our community — means a lot to all of us,” said Greg Goforth, a commercial and residential real estate broker with Windermere Crest, of Camas.

Adam Roselli and Byron Roselli, of Eric Fuller & Associates, Inc., represented the landlord in the transaction.

Aguilar-Taylor owned a tanning salon and spa in St. Helens, Oregon, from 2004 to 2008. Downtown Camas has that same “small town feel,’ she said.

Aguilar-Taylor finished her business plan after taking a class from the Washington Center for Women in Business, in Lacey.

She also received online coaching from the non-profit organization.

Craig and Colleen Cancilla opened the Sears Hometown Store, in October 2010 and closed it in January 2017.
