Molly Coston, a former Washougal City Councilwoman who is a candidate for Washougal Mayor, will host a public “meet and greet” social from 2:30 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 6, in the gazebo at Upper Hathaway Park, 799 25th St., Washougal.
Free ice cream sundaes will be provided.
Coston, a former senior project manager in the telecommunications industry, was on the council from June 2005 through December 2011.
Coston, 69, will face current Washougal City Councilmember Dan Coursey, 63, in the Nov. 7 general election.
Coursey has had careers as a commercial banker and real estate underwriter; and later as a computer systems engineer. He held a campaign kickoff event on June 21.
Coston served as president of the Camas-Washougal Rotary Club from 2014 to 2015, and president of the League of Women Voters of Clark County from 2007 to 2010.
In a press release, Coston said she has a long and diverse history of working for the community.
“I understand city government, and I care about the future of our community,” she added.
