Snow, freezing rain and ice have battered the Portland and Greater Vancouver areas during the past three days. This morning, forecasters said more of the same may be on its way Monday night and Tuesday morning. One to 3 inches of accumulation is expected.

Just when the snow and ice was finally beginning to melt, forecasters with the National Weather Service are now predicting more snow.

The Portland office this morning issued a winter weather advisory stating that a mix of rain and snow will hit the Greater Vancouver area this evening, and change to just snow after 11 p.m., continuing until noon on Tuesday.

An accumulation of 1 to 3 inches of snow is expected, depending on elevation.

“Additional snow and existing ice accumulations will continue slippery roads and walking paths, and possibly result in falling tree branches,” the advisory states.

Classes in Camas and Washougal were canceled on Monday, due to inclement weather conditions.
