A 24-hour co-ed fitness club is expected to open in downtown Washougal next year.
Paul Billings, co-owner/franchisee of the future Anytime Fitness location, has signed a six-year lease for suite 148, in Washougal Town Square, 1700 Main St.
His wife, Kendall, also owns the club. Paul Billings’ sister, Carolyn Billings, owns 5 percent of the business.
They plan to build a gym in the 6,297 square-foot space and open in January.
“Washougal is growing fast, and lots of opportunities are developing,” Paul Billings said. “More and more families are seeing Washougal as a family based community that is safe and has lots of amenities and activities.
“Washougal is young and vibrant with lots of potential,” he added.
Around the U.S., the average Anytime Fitness club has approximately 800 members.
The gyms are staffed eight hours a day but members can access the club anytime, by using a computerized key-fob system.
“We’ll have personal trainers available to help you learn how to use all of the equipment and to develop an individualized workout plan, if you like,” Paul Billings said. “We’ll also have a state-of-the-art video projection system that allows members to choose from hundreds of video classes whenever it’s most convenient for them.”
