A new chief executive officer will take the helm at Fisher Investments beginning July 1.

Fisher Investments announced March 22 that Damian Ornani has been named the Camas-based company’s next CEO.

Founder Ken Fisher, 65, will remain on board as full-time executive chairman, co-chief investment officer, and a member of the Investment Policy Committee.
Fisher Investments currently serves more than 35,000 clients representing more than $65 billion in assets under management.

Ornani has worked for Fisher Investments for two decades. A member of its Executive Management Team since 2005, he currently oversees the bulk of the employees in its principal business units.

“With our ongoing growth in clients, assets under management, employees, and our expanding presence on four continents, it’s a natural evolution to separate the management and investment functions,” Fisher said in a press release. “Damian Ornani is a proven leader who understands our firm, values, employees, and most importantly, our clients.”

As CEO, Ornani’s responsibilities will expand to include oversight of all non-investment operations, including client service, hiring, budgeting, staffing, sales and marketing, technology, and more. He will also continue to lead Fisher Investments’ expansion into international markets, 401(k) solutions for small businesses, and development of new institutional offerings.

Founded in 1979 in California, Fisher Investments moved into a new, five-story building at 5525 N.W. Fisher Creek Drive, in Camas, in 2011. There is also a one-story building for processing and printing operations. A second, five-story building opened on the 150-acre campus in 2014. Its Camas headquarters employs nearly 1,000 people.
