Angst Gallery and Dengerink Art Supply are challenging the community to create art out of recycled materials at an “Arty Party” event Saturday, Aug. 6, from 6 to 9 p.m.
Materials will be provided for the free event. There will be prizes for those who make the best pieces of art.
Dengerink Art Supply, located at 1015 Main St., in Vancouver, is a small, independent store.
Owner Erin Dengerink began researching the possibility of starting an art supply store in 2013 as she was finishing up her master’s degree at the Pacific Northwest College of Art. According to a press release, her idea was to support the local arts community by providing the type of art supplies that most local artists travel to Portland to purchase.
The shop got its start at Sixth and Main streets in 2015. In May 2016, Dengerink Art Supply relocated up the street to join Angst Gallery in the heart of the arts district.
