Drivers who use eastbound state Route 14 near Camas should add extra time to their trip on Sunday, Feb. 28.
All lanes of eastbound SR-14 will exit at Northwest 6th Avenue, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The closure will give maintenance crews from the Washington State Department of Transportation the space they need to safely repair damaged guardrail along a single lane section of the highway.
According to Bart Treece, WSDOT communications manager, two sections totaling approximately 100 feet of guardrail need to be repaired. The majority of the damage occurred as a result of a collision on the morning of Jan. 25.
“That section is really tight, so it would be difficult for our crews to make repairs without completely closing the road,” he said.
Drivers can use the SR-14 business loop to access the Southeast Union Street on-ramp for eastbound SR-14.
