Police release the name of the man found on train tracks in Washougal
Police have confirmed the identity of the man whose body was discovered Saturday morning on train tracks in Washougal.
According to Washougal Police Department Det. Kate Tierney, the body found at approximately 7 a.m. at the 2200 block of the BNSF Railway railroad tracks, between 20th and 24th streets, was that of Jacob Ronald Kearns, 24. Crews on a westbound train observed his body and notified 911.
Tierney said she continues to work with BNSF officials to piece together the circumstances surrounding Kearns’ death. The Clark County Medical Examiner’s office is conducting the autopsy. Foul play is not suspected.
Trains in the area were stopped until 10 a.m., when normal locomotive traffic resumed.
