Local responders are treated and released from hospital

Two CWFD paramedics were transported for heat exhaustion

The two Camas-Washougal Fire Department paramedics who experienced heat exhaustion Saturday, were treated and released from PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, in Vancouver.
Cliff Free, CWFD division chief of emergency medical services, said the department anticipates the two personnel will return to work for their next scheduled shift. Their identities are not being released.
The CWFD was dispatched Saturday afternoon to a motor vehicle accident on state Route 14 eastbound, just west of the downtown Camas exit.
The Washington State Patrol is handling the investigation of the accident. Camas Police also responded.
The two paramedics were overwhelmed by the high temperatures exceeding 100 degrees while working on extrication and patient care.
