The owner of a restaurant that opened in downtown Washougal last year will soon add a location in Camas.
Paul Le plans to open The Sushi Joint 2, at the former Flutes & Rocks Lounge location, 500 N.E. Fourth Ave. He recently signed a lease with building owner Jerry Nies.
Le hopes to open the second location by May.
Carrie Schulstad, executive director of the Downtown Camas Association, said sushi was the number one requested restaurant offering in 2012 and 2014 DCA surveys.
Le opened The Sushi Joint, at 1887 Main St., Ste. “D,” in October 2015, and he oversaw the opening of Smiley’s Yogurt and Deli, at 1801 Main St., also in downtown Washougal, in January.
Le, of Camas, has 31 years of experience in the restaurant industry.
The Sushi Joint serves hamachi and tuna, California, salmon, crab, veggie, cucumber and Philly rolls. Green tea or mango mochi balls — rice covered ice cream — are available for dessert.
To-go orders are also available from the Washougal location, daily from noon to 8 p.m. For more information, call 954-5383 or visit www.thesushijoint.com.
