Local merchants and individuals were honored for their contributions to the business community during the Downtown Camas Association’s fifth annual meeting and awards celebration.
The event, held Nov. 9 at Journey Community Church, also included a review of the downtown area’s growth and accomplishments, and plans for the future.
Award winners included: Best Downtown Improvement (Exterior) — Shanahan Insurance Agency; Best Downtown Improvement (Interior) — Nuestra MESA; Outstanding Window Display — Dance Evolution; Creative Local Marketing — Squeeze and Grind; Putting Camas on the Map — Mayor Scott Higgins; Change is Good — Caffe Piccolo; Something New in Camas — Feast at 316, Miss Nola’s Cafe and The Soap Chest; Outstanding Customer Service — Lily Atelier; and Downtown Spirit Award — Camas Gallery.
The Downtown Camas Association, a member of the Washington State Main Street program, was founded in 2009. Currently led by Executive Director Carrie Schulstad, its mission is to create a vibrant social, cultural and economic center of the community while emphasizing historical preservation.
