Citizens can meet library manager candidates Nov. 10
A “meet and greet” is scheduled with the finalists for the position of Washougal Community Library branch manager.
The reception will be held Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 6 to 7:30 p.m., in the Washougal Community Center, 1681 “C” St.
The finalists will be determined today, according to Sue Vanlaanen, communications and marketing director for the Fort Vancouver Regional Library District.
They will be interviewed in person by an FVRL panel, before the Nov. 10 reception.
Christine Hughey, 63, retired Oct. 10, after serving as community librarian for four years.
Before working in Washougal, Hughey was the community librarian in Stevenson and North Bonneville for six years. Hughey worked for the FVRL for more than 27 years.
Since Hughey’s retirement, Rachel Nutter, senior branch supervisor, is providing supervision at the Washougal branch and is serving as a liaison to the Friends of the Washougal Community Library. Librarians from the downtown Vancouver location and the district headquarters have provided assistance.
